Diana Alcala

Diana is bilingual and a native to the Central Coast, being born and raised in Santa Maria. Her practice focuses exclusively on civil litigation.

Diana earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from California State University Northridge. While in college, Diana advocated for professional and educational opportunities in the Latino and Chicano communities through her involvement with Hermanas Unidas, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the CSUN C.O.R.T. Missions Team.

After college, Diana returned to Santa Maria and worked in the caregiving industry. It was through this experience that she developed a passion for advocating on behalf of the socially vulnerable, including children, the elderly, and those with mental and physical disabilities.

Diana then earned her law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida, a nationally ranked school for Hispanic enrollment. Throughout her law school journey, Diana remained deeply involved in serving her community and earned a pro bono commendation for completing over 100 hours of community service. During law school, she was elected President of the Elder Law Society and Clerk for Phi Alpha Delta, a professional law fraternity.

While in law school, Diana interned at the Department of Children and Families: Children’s Legal Services department, and the Probate Division of the Thomas E. Lawson Courthouse Center, where she gained valuable experience regarding dependency, and guardianship proceedings. She also interned as a research associate for the ACLU and spent several years volunteering as a Guardian Ad Litem.
