Santa Maria Relay For Life - 2005

Attorneys and staff at Kirk & Simas (in many cases along with spouses and friends) donated their time and money to participate in the 2005 Santa Maria Relay for Life. In an event lasting 24 hours, at least one member from each team has to be walking on the track for the event's entire duration. Walkers generally find sponsors who donate money based on time spent on the track, or number of laps completed. All proceeds are donated to cancer research.

Each year has a theme, and 2005's theme was the Academy Awards! Many people were in costumes or their finest outfits. 2005 was Kirk & Simas' first year of participation as a firm, and we look forward to many more years. Because we joined at the last minute, we did not really have time to get into the theme, but for 2006 we went all out! All who participated had a fabulous time (even those scheduled to walk at 3:00 a.m.).

Through sponsors and donations, the Relay for Life raised $333,898.15 this year!
